A Russian military helicopter. A secret plan to bring it across the border. And one pilot whose decision could change everything.
Ukrainian intelligence officer Andrii is preparing a high-risk operation while struggling with a personal desire for revenge. His colleague Yana faces a delicate task: convincing Russian pilot Maksym to defect, taking his Mi-8 helicopter with him. As loyalties are tested and the stakes rise, a carefully planned mission becomes a dangerous game of trust, persuasion and uncertainty.
Directed by Akhtem Seitablayev, DIU. CODE: “SYKORA” draws on Operation Synytsia, a real Ukrainian intelligence mission carried out in August 2023. Developed with input from officers involved in the operation, the film blends espionage, action and personal drama with fictional twists. Rather than focusing on the battlefield, it explores the tension behind a covert mission in which words can be as decisive as weapons — and a single choice can alter the course of events.
