URANIA CEE 🧡 NEMA is more than just a cinema—it’s a platform for new perspectives, powerful voices, and fresh film culture from Central and Eastern Europe. The goal is to raise the profile of great films from the region in Vienna and to support exciting talent from CEE countries as well as from Austria. At the same time, the project sees itself as a space for encounter: cinema as a place where cultures come together, ideas are shared, and genuine exchange takes place.

URANIA CEE 🧡 NEMA stands for clear values: openness, diversity, and respect. Both within our team and in our film program, we are committed to a pluralistic, democratic society and fundamental values such as tolerance, solidarity, equal opportunity, and human rights. In short: Great cinema, strong values!

And behind the screen, too, the future is being envisioned—and shaped. As a European Climate Pact partner (as part of our film education project EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal), URANIA CEE 🧡 NEMA is committed to a sustainable cinema strategy. Environmental and sustainability issues are not only reflected in the film program—the cinema’s operations themselves are designed to be as climate-conscious as possible. Enjoy the cinema without a guilty conscience.
